For many months now (years really) His Call has been searching for a bus and the money to buy it. This is a daunting task to say the least. While we have found a couple, the Dallas area is not exactly over run with potential buses. However, Terry Toney from Nashville, who is a long time friend has put his expertise and know how to work and found one that he thinks will do the job.
During this journey we have been able to build up a fund for this purpose. Being we are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit ministry we have been able to find a few supporters who know, understand and are willng to partner in our ministry. This support has come from the least likely people and places. But I guess that's how God works.
Terry has found a bus that will meet our needs and allow us to move in an area we have felt God leading for some time. So what is that new area?
Our primary goal has been and always will be to go where He leads and tell others (Mark 16:15) about the love He showed for us on the cross (John 3:16,17), to sing about His presence with us now (Matt 28:20),  the promise of His return (Acts 1:11)  and the hope of Heaven to them that believe (John 14:2,3).
In fact none of this is about buses and love offerings. These thing are just a means to an end. They help us get there and then go to the next place God has prepared for us. We all have jobs that pay our bills and we take no living from this ministry. What has happened is that new doors have opened and continue to open that require us to go further than ever before. In 2008 and 2009 His Call did 70 dates each year and we expect that to grow. The problem is we can't get to the ones who would have us come the way things are now.
My personal goal for this ministry in which I have invested 9 years (and others in the group many more), is to see it not just continue as it is, but to grow and indeed it has. Among other things, Jabez asked God to broaden his horizons. At the end of his prayer (1Chron 4:10) it is recorded that "God granted him that which he requested". I have prayed that prayer myself and God has blessed me in ways that I cannot record. His Call has been praying this prayer for some time now and we see how God has (in His own way and time) done the same. Having said all of that I believe with God's blessing we can see this ministry self sustained. As our friends and supporters as well as new friends and supporters come along side and  participate in this minisrty it can only grow.
So what is next? I would like to see our support group grow so that we can go out without concern for finances. Let me explain further. Currnetly we go anywhere on a love offering basis. We don't ever want to be in the position where we have to tell some one that we cannot come if they don't give us a certain amount of money. Our priorities lie in the ministry God has for us not in the size of the love offering or fee. This by the way is not to be seen as a criticism of the way others go out. This is just the way we feel God would have us function. What this does is gives you our suporters the opportunity to be partners with us in our ministry. The operative word being partners. We cannot do it alone.
If you are reading this and feel no need to participate it just means that the
Lord is not enlisting you at this time. However, if you feel He is asking for your committment as a partner in this ministry, we would like to hear from you. Check the contact page and let us know how He is speaking to your heart.
He has spoken to mine and I just want to sing for Him until He calls me Home.

for His Call
Well, we are now moving forward on a bus we found in Southeast Missouri. We are planning to pick it up on Aug 20th when we go to the North Arkansas Quartet Convention. There is some work to do on it but it is basically ready to use and we are going to hit the ground running with it as we enter the last 1/3 of 2010. This bus has come as the result of much prayer, much looking and much discussion. It has been made possible by the generosity of so many people who have prayed for us and given of their personal financial resources. Without this support we would not have been able to proceed in getting a bus at all. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and ask that you continue to partner with us in God's work. There are so many people to reach for the Lord, so many songs to be sung in His Name. and so little time.
